Nurse Practioner Arrested on Drug Related Charges - To Appear in Federal Court

A nurse practioner in Murfreesboro has been arrested on a federal indictment that alleges she obtained a schedule three drug by fraudulent misrepresentation. According to an arrest report, Michelle Lee Brown was also charged with possession of a drug with the intent to distribute it. The drug in question was Hydrocodone, a popular pain killer. Hydrocodone is used to treat moderate to severe pain and is slightly less potent than Oxycodone. Records show the case against Brown suggested that she is accused of improper practice and fraud in dealing with Hydrocodone.

When arrested, Brown listed her place of employment as Physicians Medical Care, LLC, which has an office in Murfreesboro. Brown was taken into custody at her home on Black Fox Crossing. The investigation into Brown started over a year ago. Her arrest involved Murfreesboro Police, the U.S. Marshall’s Service and the Drug Enforcement Agency.

The charges that Brown will face in federal court include four counts of obtaining a schedule three drug by fraud and misrepresentation and possession with the intent to distribute Hydrocodone.
