NWS Continues Tornado Surveys

The National Weather Service will continue to survey storm damage this week. Storms that ripped through the mid-state last week spawned at least 14-tornadoes, but the total number could rise to 18 after the upcoming surveys. The 14 confirmed twisters, including an E-F-1 in Eagleville, makes the outbreak the largest in a January on record. The previous record was 12 back in 1997.

The Murfreesboro Social Security Office has reduced public office hours 30-minutes each weekday. It is now open Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. PLUS: the office now closes at NOON every Wednesday.
