Oakland High School was a winner in this year’s Tweet Your Team, a tweeting school spirit contest conducted at BlueCross Spring Fling? last month.

Each school was challenged to tweet cheers for their favorite team, with each tweet that included the official BlueCross Spring Fling hashtag, #bcbstspringfling, earning the named school one point.  The school receiving the most tweets at the end of the week would take home the prize. More than 6,000 tweets were received during the week-long event with Oakland High School accruing the most overall tweets (1,234).

Oakland received a $1,000 donation from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, the title sponsor of the state spring sports championships held in May at various venues in Murfreesboro.

Girls Preparatory School had the second-highest total with 744 tweets, followed by Forrest High School with 425 tweets.
