The nightcap of the Rutherford County Jamboree saw Oakland shut out La Vergne 14-0 last Friday night.
The Patriots took a 7-0 lead on their first possession when quarterback Brendon Matthews found receiver Shun Reed racing down the sideline for a 47-yard touchdown completion.
"I saw Reed take a great first step and he beat his dude off the line and he just went up and got the football," Matthews said.
Added Reed: "When I came off the ball I faded to my fade line and I let it fall in and just took my eyes to it, and it was a great catch and I just ran it in for a touchdown."
For Oakland senior safety/receiver Jacoby Stevens, who committed to LSU last week, he said it was exciting to be back on the field.
"It's exciting. I can't wait to play real football and put it all out there and show them what we have."
The Patriot defense proved to be a force as well as they bent to the Wolverines offensive attack, yet did not break forcing a punt in their own territory.
Running back Jeron Rooks ended a 94-yard touchdown drive for the Patriots last score of the game.
The game was sealed at the beginning of the second half when Patriots cornerback Zarius Gamble intercepted a pass on his team's own 27-yard line to shut down any momentum the Wolverines were able to build.
