One of the biggest health fairs in Rutherford County's history is happening this weekend. The Rutherford's Best Doctor's Health Fair is this Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lane Agri-Park Community Center on 315 John R. Rice Blvd. Physicians from many specialties will be in attendance. There will also be free health screenings, giveaways, demonstrations, and more.

This will be Rutherford's Best Doctors second free health fair; the first, held last spring, connected hundreds of Rutherford County residents with our some of our community's best physicians.

In addition to nearly 100 local doctors, the event will also showcase local exhibitors like Pa Bunk's, YMCA, NHC, TrustPoint Hospital, Elements Massage, Russell Boyter Dentist, Jones Therapy, EaseMD, Pita Pit, the Murfreesboro Post, United Way, OsteoStrong, Wild About Smiles and the Rutherford County Health Department.

Event sponsor American Esoteric Laboratories will be giving away a FitBit Force, which can track steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, stairs climbed and active minutes throughout the day. At night, you can track your sleep and wake up silently with a vibrating alarm. There will be several other giveaways at the event.

In an effort to help clear up some of the confusion about the recent Obamacare rollout, the free Rutherford's Best Doctors Health Fair will also include one-on-one consultations about Obamacare and how to find the best plan for individuals and families. Polls show that a majority of Americans don't understand how the health reform law and the new insurance exchanges unveiled this month work.
