ODD TIMES: Duo Allegedly Steal Crab Legs from Kroger and Leave Small Child Behind When Caught

A very odd theft was reported at the Kroger Store on Old Fort Parkway at Cason Lane on Wednesday in Murfreesboro. A Kroger Loss Prevention Officer called the police after he witnessed two subjects place crab legs, a BlueTooth speaker, mixing bowl, butter, a single gift card and a 32-pack of water in a shopping cart and calmly push it past the cash registers without paying for it. That part of the story is far from odd compared to what happened next…as Robert Rickman reports.

VERBATIM:

The M-P-D report shows that the Kroger employee confronted the subjects in the parking lot and the duo took off running. This is where the story goes downhill. The two thieves actually left a small child behind in the shopping cart. When the subjects realized they left the child behind, they made a quick return trip and grabbed the kid. The loss prevention officer tried to detain one of the two suspects but was quickly pushed away by one while the other took a swing at him, grazing only his arm. With the child in tow, the two bandits made a second getaway. They hopped into a nearby car “throwing the child in the back seat” and drove away.  Robert Rickman WGNS news.

The subjects were caught on video and police now have a license plate number to track down.
