A 39-year old man convicted of a sexual related offense and registered in Ohio as a sex offender was arrested in Murfreesboro. The arrest report that WGNS obtained on Monday shows that Murfreesboro Police received word that Aaron Troutman was in the area and has not registered with the county. The Toledo, Ohio man met with officers at the Murfreesboro Police Headquarter office on South Church Street.

The report shows that Troutman was originally registered in Ohio for "Child Pornography." Evidently he was working in Murfreesboro and staying at the Best Western Motel on Chaffin Place. Troutman told police that he went to register at the Sheriff's Office, but was told he needed to go to the police department. He was also advised that he could not stay at the Best Western due to the fact that it is within 1,000 feet of a child care facility, according to the report on file at the MPD. The report went on to state that police tried to set up an appointment for him to visit the police station, but he refused to stop by. When asked what day he first came to Murfreesboro, he told police he wanted to speak to his lawyer.
