UPDATE: One MTSU Student Assaulted at Party, Second Shot

WGNS is following up on a story that unfolded this past weekend involving one MTSU student who was allegedly assaulted during a party at his residence and a second victim who was shot. Murfreesboro Police Sergeant Kyle Evans confirmed  the shooting on Wednesday.   

The victim who was shot suffered from a gunshot wound to the thigh. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville with non life threatening injuries. The victim who was assaulted was reportedly struck in the face multiple times and received several facial injuries and had to be hospitalized for a brief time as well. Sergeant Evans told us that at this point, no arrests have been made.

The incident that led to the assault occured during a party inside one students apartment at Campus Crossing Apartments on Rutherford Blvd. Reports indicate that during the party, three unknown black males tried to enter the residence. When they were told to leave, they assaulted one of the victims and minutes later shot another in the parking lot.
