Three commercial grade microwave ovens valued at over $3,000 were stolen from the Burger King restaurant on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. The ovens were sitting outside the rear door of the store awaiting pick up for repair.

Police looked into the stolen ovens and found out that they had been sold as scrap metal to Clark Iron and Metal in Murfreesboro. The thief sold the ovens, valued at over $3,000, for $30.80. By the time police found out about them being sold for scrap metal, they had already been stripped down and scrapped.

Police do have the suspects name and address because the subject was required to show his ID to the scrap metal yard prior to selling the ovens. The culprit will now face a felony theft charge.
