Over 340 Criminal Charges Filed Against Juveniles in Rutherford County This Past April and May

During the months of April and May, a total of 342 charges were filed against juveniles for a variety of crimes in Rutherford County.

According to the charges WGNS reviewed on Tuesday, 2 Juveniles were charged with rape in Rutherford County and Murfreesboro. Reports also indicate that 1 juvenile was charged with the alleged rape of a child in Smyrna. Records show another teen is facing aggravated sexual battery charges in LaVergne and the legal guardian of one child filed 9 charges of sexual battery against a juvenile in Rutherford County this past May.

16 Juveniles were charged with marijuana possession and 13 were charged with the simple possession of a schedule 2 drug. Schedule 2 drugs include things like cocaine, methadone, methamphetamines, and amphetamines. 8 Were charged with possession of a prescription drug that they were not prescribed.

As far as alcohol goes, 1 Juvenile was charged with DUI in LaVergne and 1 faces DUI charges in Murfreesboro. 2 Were charged with public intoxication and 3 were charged with possession of alcohol. 2 of those arrests were in Murfreesboro and one was in LaVergne.
