Overall Creek Elementary School in Murfreesboro is in the money thanks to the online support it received from voters in the State Farm® Neighborhood Assist® program.

The school is one of 40 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive $25,000 grants. The school plans to use the money for construction of an on-campus greenhouse to be built this fall and operational next spring. The long-range plan is to not only continue to grow native plants and flowers, but to teach the basics of agriculture.

"We're pleased to be able to help the school realize its vision," said Kip Diggs, State Farm spokesman.

The grants are funded thru the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, which initially sifted thru nearly 4,000 causes to determine the 200 finalists. The online voters took it from there, selecting 40 winning organizations.
