MORE INFO: Since Tennessee did not create its exchange, it is among the states using the federal website. Steven Emmert with Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee says despite the issues, the demand underscores the need. He says it speaks to the fact that the people want to do the responsible thing. They want health insurance, they understand its important and they're willing to do what they need to to get there. The deadline to enroll is December 15th for those who want coverage beginning in January, although the mandate that requires all people to have health insurance doesn't start until April 1st. There are nearly 900-thousand uninsured in Tennessee.
