The fate of Jacob Pearman is in a jury's hands. The defense rested Saturday in the the trial for the 32-year old, accused of murdering his wife Carla and abusing her then seven-year old son. Murfreesboro Post contributor Sam Stockard says Circuit Court Judge David Bragg denied the defense's motion for acquittal of first-degree murder charges against Pearman. He also reports Pearman waived his right to testify in the case, even though defense attorney Luke Evans, in his opening statement, said the jury would hear from the defendant.
