Plenty of Fun at the Park: Junior Lifeguard Camp and Splash Fun!

Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Junior Lifeguard camp for ages 11 to 14. Another treat is when the fire departments sprays kids each month!

Become A Junior Lifeguard

Are you tired of the same old summer camps? Do something unique and learn how to save lives! Become an American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard! At this camp you will learn First Aid, CPR, water rescues, and you will be able to tell your friends you are a certified Junior Lifeguard! You will receive an official Jr. Guard shirt.  For ages 11 – 14 there are two opportunities to participate; Camp #1: June 9-13 or Camp #2: July 14-18 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Sports * Com.  The cost is $40 + $10 Activity Fee.

Fire and Parks Help Kids Splash

Splish, Splash!  Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation and Murfreesboro Fire Department join forces this summer to cool-down the citizens of Murfreesboro with Splash Out!  Firefighters will hose down the kids and parents for a day of fun in the water and sun.  Wear clothes and shoes to get wet in and don’t forget your sunscreen and towel.  Parents, plan to stay with your children and enjoy the water too!  Join us for this fun and free event from 1:30 – 3:00p.m. on the following dates:

Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Richard Siegel Neighborhood Park

Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Barfield Crescent Park (Pav. 5, 6, & 7)

Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Old Fort Park; Pavilion # 1
