Police Chase at Noon in Murfreesboro

Murfreesboro Police were involved in a pursuit on Monday afternoon at 12. The culprit that police were chasing allegedly tried to run over an officer during a traffic stop.  The suspect was in a stolen Acura. Reports indicate the chase reached speeds of over 60-miles per hour through town during the congested lunch hour.  

The pursuit started on South Church Street and went down Middle Tennessee Boulevard then over to Mercury Boulevard and eventually to Eagle Street where the driver of the stolen car circled around twice before jumping out of the vehicle and running. He could not outrun the long arm of the law… Murfreesboro Police apprehended the suspect near Sherrill Boulevard. Arrested was 28-year old Bounthay Gee Soupholphakdy. He is a Murfreesboro resident.
