Murfreesboro police may have gotten to an attempted suicide victim just in time. When police got to the Ramada Inn on Tuesday, they found a 49-year old man who had shot himself in the chin. The victim, who is from Chattanooga, used a .38-caliber handgun on himself in an attempt to commit suicide. Police gave first aid until the Murfreesboro Fire Department and paramedics arrived at the hotel around 2:30 in the afternoon. The man was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville by ambulance. He is expected to recover. His name is not being released.
