Police continue to investigate tobacco store robbery on S. Church St.

There was an aggravated robbery in Murfreesboro on Monday night that is still being investigated at this time. The incident happened at Discount Tobacco Outlet on South Church Street near Indian Hills.

The worker in the store was in the bathroom when she heard rustling outside the door. She says she walked out of the restroom and into a robbery. A man inside the store grabbed the clerk and pushed her towards the register. He then demanded she hand over the money in the cash drawer. The culprit told the victim if she did not give him the money he would, “blow her away.” The man motioned as if he had a gun, but did not actually display a weapon.

After the man cleaned out the register the report says, “the subject then took her in to the back room and made her open the safe.” The victim says the subject then pushed her to the front of the store, made her open the door, and then he fled the scene leaving her behind.

The man was described as white male, 35-years of age, 5-foot 7-inches tall with a thin build. The culprit was wearing brown coveralls and had a white bandanna over his face.

Police say the man left cash behind. There was a trail of money that led officers to a back parking lot.
so far, the thief has not been caught.
