Police Make Arrest After Chasing Down Suspect

The front seat passenger of a car thought to be involved in an armed robbery decided to hop from the vehicle and run from police. The incident occurred on North Tennessee Boulevard on Tuesday.

23-Year old Stephon Terrell Canty was tackled by an officer after leaping from the car. Police say they found six small bags of marijuana in his possession and a small bag of cocaine. Canty allegedly admitted to police that he had five to six “bumps” of cocaine throughout the course of the night.

As it turns out, Canty was not believed to be a suspect in the armed robbery that was previously reported. Canty was however wanted on six outstanding warrants. He was also charged for possession the marijuana and cocaine. He will appear in court on January 9.
