Politics: Local Doctor Running for State Seat Confirms Women's Forum

Bryan Terry, MD confirms GOP leaders for a women’s forum, “Empowering Women to Get Involved at the Local, State and National Levels.”

Rutherford County women are being invited to a forum On February 22 focusing on the work of female Republican leaders across our state and nation.

The event is being organized by Dr. Bryan Terry, a Republican candidate for the State House of Representatives, District 48.

“The liberal national media likes to say that the Republican Party is waging a ‘war on women,’” Terry said.  “But the truth is the GOP is full of dynamic female leaders who are making a real difference for their community, our state and our nation.”

“I wanted to bring some of these leaders together here in Rutherford County to highlight their efforts.  And I want local citizens to have the chance to meet these outstanding women,” Terry said. 

Featured speakers at the event will include:

  • Sher Valenzuela – Prime Time Speaker at 2012 Republican National Convention, Nominee for Delaware Lt. Governor, and a leader in the “Right Women, Right Now” project to recruit GOP women candidates
  • Christy Sanford – Rutherford County GOP Chairwoman
  • Mishelle Perkins – local grassroots advocate and instructor

All Republican women running for office in Rutherford County have also been invited to attend and set up booths.  Voters will have the opportunity to meet and greet Republican women candidates.

The event is free and open to the public.  It will be held February 22 from 1-3PM at Patterson Park Conference rooms Band C.  Drinks and light snacks provided.
