POLITICS: Rusty Dallas running for Register of Deeds

Local businessman, Rusty Dallas has announced his candidacy for Rutherford County Register of Deeds. The elected office is currently held by Heather Dawbarn. Dallas has lived in Rutherford County since 1966 and has worked as an insurance agent and financial advisor since 1983.

Local businessman, Rusty Dallas has announced his candidacy for Rutherford County Register of Deeds. Rusty plans to bring his more than 30 years of business experience to serve the people of Rutherford County.  Rusty and his family have made Murfreesboro their home since 1966.  He attended the Murfreesboro City Schools, Riverdale High School and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business. 

In 1983 Rusty began his career as an insurance agent and financial advisor.  Rusty is a member of the National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors and has served on their board of directors. He is also a Registered Financial Consultant.  Dallas comments, “I’m very grateful to the people of Rutherford County for the great success I have enjoyed in my business.  I feel blessed to live in this great community and will be honored to serve as the Register of Deeds.”

Rusty is married to Sherry Maple Dallas, and they have three daughters and three grandchildren. 

Rusty is a member of The Murfreesboro Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow, an award given for outstanding service.  He is also a member of The Blue Raider Athletic Association, MTSU Alumni Association,  National Rifle Association and is a Master Mason.  Rusty is a pilot, enjoys fishing, is a car enthusiast and most of all enjoys spoiling their grandchildren.

Butch Vaughn, local school administrator, will be serving as the treasurer of Rusty’s campaign.  “I’m fortunate to have Butch Vaughn as my campaign treasurer.  We have been friends for many years and he will do a fine job managing our assets.” said Dallas.
