What appears to be a hate crime was reported in Murfreesboro on Tuesday evening. Two homeless men who are admittedly homosexual, told police they were jumped by two acquaintances in a field off of South Church Street. The victims reported that the two men who jumped them were yelling that they hate gay people as they were beating them.

One of the two victims was knocked unconscious during the confrontation. He received a broken nose and multiple bruises. Police have not made an arrest at this point, but do have the first names of the two suspects.
