A public meeting will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 o'clock this coming Monday night in the band room at Erma Siegel Elementary School (135 West thompson Lane). Arlington Venture Partnership will show residents their plans to build a 241 unit apartment complex near the school, and there will be entrances from both Thompson Lane as well as Memorial Boulevard. The units reportedly will be built as 4-story tall structures.

In a press release, members of the North Murfreesboro Alliance listed their concerns.

The proposed development will adversely impact the student capacity at ALL Siegel Schools. Siegel administration is already aware that people use the Paddock Club for only an address to get their children into Siegel when they actually own a home elsewhere. Ken Nolan, who recently retired, confirmed that fact to a homeowner. The school does not want any more apartments in this area, but they cannot say that publically. The school already has too many portal classrooms.

This decision will further impact traffic flow through Regency Park and surrounding neighborhoods. This city is concerned about traffic and signal locations.

Again, the public meeting is 7:00 to 8:00 o'clock this coming Monday night (10/22/2012) in the band room at Erma Siegel Elementary School at 135 West Thompson Lane.
