School will soon be out for the season, and co-eds will be singing "See You In September". Unfortunately, City Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns that road projects and traffic jams won't fade 'til fall. He warns motorists where to avoid now through May 9th.

Joe B Jackson Pkwy Project (between Butler Dr and Stevens Bend Rd)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Incidental bridge work continues on Joe B Jackson Pkwy. The section of roadway is closed to traffic. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Veterans Pkwy aka Kimbro Road Widening Project (Barfield Road to Saint Andrews Drive)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm: Box culvert and storm drain work continues on Veterans Pkwy. There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions (trucks entering and exiting the job site). Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossing. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to traffic at Memorial Blvd for utility crossing construction work. Broadmor Blvd can still be accessed from NW Broad Street. W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Intersection Improvements on Old Fort Pkwy at Market Place

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be lane closures on Old Fort Pkwy for median and turn lane modification work, grinding, removal and realignment of pavement markings. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Force Main Project (Tune Ave, Searcy St and Warrant St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for Water &Sewer Department will be installing force sewer main lines at Tune Ave, Searcy St and Warrant Street. Warrant St will be closed to through traffic. These streets will be reduced to one lane with flagging operation. Local resident will have access at all times. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Murfreesboro Electric Department Utility Pole Work (New Salem Highway at River Rock Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for Murfreesboro Electric Department will be replacing a damaged utility pole on the south side of New Salem Highway near River Rock Blvd. Eastbound traffic shoulder on New Salem Highway will be closed. Traffic lanes will not be affected. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Traffic Signal Maintenance Work

1) Memorial Blvd at Thompson Lane

2) Memorial Blvd at Heritage Park Dr

3) Memorial Blvd at Clark Blvd

4) NW Broad St at Northfield Blvd

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 pm to 6:00 am: City traffic signal contractor will be doing signal maintenance work at the intersections listed above. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. All work will be done at night. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Pavement Repair Work (Molloy Lane at New Salem Highway)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for Murfreesboro Engineering Department will be milling and paving Molloy Lane at New Salem Highway. Molloy Lane will be reduced to one lane operation at the intersection. There will be traffic interruptions and lane closures. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Rutherford County, TDOT resurfacing of I-24 from east of SR 840 to Stones River Bridge

Expected Lane Closures: Sunday through Wednesday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: Contractor for Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will be milling and paving I-24 between SR 840 and Stones River Bridge. There will be alternating lane closures on I-24 in both directions, from mile marker 75 to mile marker 79, in order to mill the roadway. At least one lane will remain open in each direction. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Turn Lane Improvement Project (Mercury Blvd westbound lanes just west of Rutherford Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be constructing a right turn lane on Mercury Blvd. There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions on westbound lanes. Eastbound traffic will not be affected. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

AT&T Fiber Project (Memorial Blvd between Sulphur Springs Rd and Northfield Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: AT&T crews will be doing fiber installation work on Memorial Blvd just south of Northfield Blvd. Northbound traffic on Memorial Blvd will be reduced to one lane between Sulphur Springs and Northfield Blvd. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
