Ram Warns Where To Avoid Now Through Nov. 14th

Cooler weather is setting-in and that warns constructions crews to finish projects before winter hits. City Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran knows this means potential road challenges for motorists. Here's where to avoid in the 'Boro, now through November 14th.

City Construction Projects

Veterans Pkwy aka Kimbro Road Widening Project (Barfield Road to Saint Andrews Drive)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm: Traffic on Veterans Pkwy between Yeargan Rd and Barfield Rd has been switched onto the north side. Workcontinues on continues on the south side of Veterans Pkwy between Yeargan Road and Barfield Road. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place. There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions (trucks entering and exiting the job site).

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossing. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to traffic at Memorial Blvd for utility crossing construction work. Broadmor Blvd can still be accessed from NW Broad Street. W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water &Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Rutherford County, TDOT Ramp Improvements at Interchange of I-24 East and Exit 81A (US 231/SR10/S Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: Contractor for Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will making ramp improvements. Traffic is shifted onto the existing shoulder of the off-ramp. Traffic on the southbound side of S Church Street has been shifted approximately 4 feet to set barrier rail and allow for demolition and replacement of the existing concrete shoulder and ramp. Traffic will return to the original configuration just past the existing ramp and before Westgate Blvd. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Water and Sewer Line Installation Project (E Main St between Baird Ln and College Heights St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing water and sewer lines on E Main St between Baird Ln and College Heights St. Two lane of traffic will be maintained on E Main Street.

Private Development Water Line Tie-in Work (Regenwood Dr at Jamison Pl)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Construction crews will be installing water lines and tie-in at the intersection of Regenwood Dr and Jamison Pl. The traffic on Regenwood Dr will be reduced from two lanes to one lane at Jamison Pl. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

AT&T Fiber Optic Work

1) Intersection of Blaze Dr at Vijay Ave (southwest corner - underground work)

2) Vijay Ave, Cally St, Sergio Ave, Garcia Blvd & Piccadilly Dr (underground work).

3) S Church Street (between Rushwood Dr and NW Broad St (east side overhead work).

Expected No Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM: AT&T crews will be installing fiber optic lines. There will be no lane closures for the underground work. One northbound lane on S Church St between Rushwood Dr and NW Broad St. will be closed. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Urban Environmental Tree Removal Work (Kingwood Dr between Sunset Ave and Byrd Ave)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm: City Urban Environmental crews will be removing a couple tree on Kingwood Dr between Sunset Ave and Byrd Ave. Local residents will have access at all times. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Lytle Street Widening and Roundabout Project (between NW Broad St and N Front St )

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am: City contractor has started utility installation work on Lytle St between NW Broad St and N Front St. Water and Sewer line work is being done at night. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place. There will beincidental lane closures and traffic interruptions.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM: City paving contractor will be paving the following streets:

1) Savannah Ridge Drive between S Church St and Sayre Ln.

2) Puckett Station Subdivision - Contessa Dr, Puckett Creek Crossing & Pretoria Run

3) Princeton Oaks Subdivision - Faran David Ct & Princeton Oaks Ln

There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
