City Construction Projects
Joe B Jackson Pkwy Construction Project (I-24 and S Church Street)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Storm drain, grading and Bridge construction work continues on Joe B Jackson Pkwy on the east side between County Farm Road and Butler Drive/Elam Road. Utility road crossing, water line and gas line work resumes on Joe B Jackson Pkwy between S Church Street and County Farm Road. AT&T, Atmos Energy and CUD crews will also be doing underground and overhead utility work on Joe B Jackson Pkwy. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions at Annell Dr, Cedar Dr, Dorothy Dr and Stevens Bend Dr. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Department Projects (Sunset Ave)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm: The contractor for the Water and Sewer Department will be doing water line installation work on Sunset Ave. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
United Telephone Overhead Utility Relocation Project (NW Broad St at Ridgely Rd, Memorial Blvd at Ridgely Rd, Ridgely Rd, St Clair St, Walnut Dr and Burton Drive)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for United Telephone will be doing overhead utility relocation work on Ridgely Rd, St Clair St, Walnut Dr and Burton Dr. On Thursday, September 12, between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am the existing aerial cable at NW Broad St and Memorial Blvd will be removed. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
S Church Street Sidewalk Repair/Upgrade Project
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Incidental sidewalk repair work continuous along S Church Street between I-24 and NW Broad Street. Work entails removing and replacing existing damaged concrete sidewalk. There will be minor lane closures and traffic interruptions on S Church Street. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Overall Creek Elementary School Roadway Project (Veterans Pkwy at Mooreland Lane)
Expected Road Closures: September 3rd 2013 through June 21st 2014: Mooreland Lane at Veterans Pkwy closed in preparation for the new roadway construction and utility work. All traffic to and from Veterans Pkwy and Mooreland Lane will be detoured through State Route 96 and Rucker Lane. Proper traffic controls will be in place.
Murfreesboro Streets Department Maintenance Project (S Rutherford Blvd between Bradyville Pike and Ransom Drive)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday: 8:30 am to 2:30 pm: Murfreesboro Street Department crews will be doing maintenance work on S Rutherford Blvd between Bradyville Pike and Ransom Drive. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
The Pointe at Eastdale Development (Bradyville Pike near S Rutherford Blvd)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 2:30 pm: The contractor for a private development will be constructing turn lanes at the new entrance driveway on Bradyville Pike near S Rutherford Blvd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Windstream Communications Fiber Relocation Project (E Lytle Street between Highland Ave and Academy St)
Expected No Lane Closures: Wednesday through Friday: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm: The contractor for Windstream Communications will be installing underground conduit on E Lytle between Highland Ave and Academy St. There will be minor traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
United Telephone Overhead Utility Relocation Project (Joe B Jackson, Intersection of S Church Street and Joe B Jackson Pkwy)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for United Telephone will be transferring overhead utility lines to new utility poles on Joe B Jackson Pkwy. There will be some nighttime work between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am mid-week at the intersection of S Church Street and Joe B Jackson. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
Annual City Street Paving Project
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM: City milling, paving, striping and casting crews will be working on the following streets and subdivisions: Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions during these operations.
