Hot, hot summer days raise stress levels, and Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns of 'Boro locations that might be potential traffic jam sites from today through July 2nd.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossing. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for utility crossing and general construction work. W Lytle Street and a short segment of College St and Burton St are also closed to traffic for construction work. Retaining wall work continues as part of the southwest and southeast ramps for the new overpass. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Underground bore work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Relocation Project (NW Broad St to Barker St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Underground utility work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The contractor has implemented the next phase of the traffic control plan on Middle Tennessee Blvd. Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd are only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control signs and message boards will be in place.

TDOT Roadway Improvement Project (Singer Road between NW Broad St and CSX Railroad)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, March 14 - Wednesday, August 31: The contractor for TDOT will be closing Singer Rd between NW Broad St and CSX Tracks to make roadway improvements. Access to and from businesses and residents will be from Florence Road. Monday June 27 through Wednesday June 29, 8AM-3PM, There will be lane closures at Broad Street at Singer road for median work. One lane will remain open in each direction. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Roadway Improvement Work (Veterans Pkwy just north of Old Fort Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing traffic signal loops and poles on Veterans Pkwy just north of Old Fort Pkwy. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Utility Work (Brinkley Rd at Hammock Dr)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing sewer lines on Brinkley Rd at Hammock Dr. Brinkley Rd will be reduced to one-lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Private Development Utility Work (Crestland Ave just south of Greenland Dr)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing water lines and taps on Crestland Ave just south of Greenland Dr. Traffic on Crestland Ave will eb reduced to one lane flagging operation. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
