Hot time, summer in the city, and Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns where motorists might find it's getting gritty through June 18th.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossing. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for utility crossing and general construction work. W Lytle Street and a short segment of College St and Burton St are also closed to traffic for construction work. Retaining wall work continues as part of the southwest and southeast ramps for the new overpass. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Underground bore work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Relocation Project (NW Broad St to Barker St.

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Underground utility work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The contractor has implemented the next phase of the traffic control plan on Middle Tennessee Blvd. Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two lanes between E Main St and Greenland Dr (near the tennis courts). E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd are only open to local traffic. Middle Tennessee Blvd between Bell St and E Main St will be closed. Northbound traffic is detoured onto E Main St/Rutherford Blvd and southbound traffic will be detoured onto Greenland Dr/Highland Ave. Appropriate traffic controls, message boards and detour signs will be in place.

TDOT Roadway Improvement Project (Singer Road between NW Broad St and CSX Railroad)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, March 14 - Wednesday, August 31: The contractor for TDOT will be closing Singer Rd between NW Broad St and CSX Tracks to make roadway improvements. Access to and from businesses and residents will be from Florence Road. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Roadway Improvement Work (Veterans Pkwy just north of Old Fort Pkwy)

Expected Minor Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing traffic signal poles on Veterans Pkwy just north of Old Fort Pkwy. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Turn Lane Improvements (N Thompson Ln just east of Leanna Rd)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be construction a left turn lane into a private development on N Thompson Ln. A short section of the bike lane on N Thompson just east of Leanna Rd will be closed. There will be minor traffic interruptions with no lane closures. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Rehabilitation Work

1) Sulphur Springs Rd between Corner Ct and Ravenwood Dr

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be performing manhole rehabilitation/repairs of the sewer lines. Traffic will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

2) Maney Ave at Jackson St

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be performing manhole rehabilitation/repairs of the sewer lines. Traffic will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Urban Environmental Department Mulching and Tree Removal Work

1) Middle Tennessee Blvd between E Main St and Mercury Blvd - Mulching Work

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Wednesday, Weather Permitting, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm: Urban Environmental crews will be mulching the median along Middle Tennessee Blvd between E Main St and Mercury Blvd. There will be a moving lane closure on the southbound direction. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

2) Haynes Dr just west of Sulphur Springs Rd - Tree Removal

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, Weather Permitting, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm: Urban Environmental crews will be removing a couple of trees on Haynes Dr just west of Sulphur Springs Rd. Traffic on Haynes Dr will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Utility Work (Crestland Ave just south of Greenland Dr)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing water lines and taps on Crestland Ave just south of Greenland Dr. Traffic on Crestland Ave will eb reduced to one lane flagging operation. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
