Reeves-Sain is excited to welcome their newest pharmacist, MTSU and Lipscomb University graduate Taylor Black. While he is now employed in the pharmacy, he has been part of the Reeves-Sain family for years.

In August of 2003, Black was hired as a "soda jerk" in the Soda Shoppe. After two years, he began working in the post office and eventually the front counter of the pharmacy. While attending Middle Tennessee State University, Black transitioned into the pharmacy and became a certified technician.

"I have worked in every section of the drug store and gained valuable customer service experiences from each one. I can still make the best milkshake, malt or banana split in the county, maybe even state." Black says.

It was in his first few months as a Soda Shoppe employee when Black realized he wanted to become a pharmacist.

"Watching Rick Sain and Jason Greene compassionately interact with their customers and the trust these patients put into them made me realize that I never wanted to leave," said Black.

Black says he never considered working anywhere else and was blessed when the opportunity to work at Reeves-Sain as a pharmacist presented itself only a couple months before his graduation from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy in 2016.

Developing relationships with the patients, as well as helping them get back to their normal routine after an illness is what Black enjoys the most about being a pharmacist.

"The role of community pharmacist has long been one of the most trusted professions and I am so thankful that I have been given the opportunity to carry the torch."

When he is not working, Black spends his time chasing around his six-month- old son, Shepard, and says he and his wife, Sara, are quick to show off pictures of him. He enjoys attending worship at Third Baptist Church and the family lunch gatherings that follow.

He also spends his free time playing golf and keeping up with the Red Sox and Blue Raider Athletics.
