Registered sex offender Craig McCord in Murfreesboro filed a plea of guilty to sexual battery by an authority figure in Circuit Court on Friday (8/19/16). He was sentenced to 7 years in prison. A charge for violating the sex offender registry was dismissed.

39 Year old McCord was apprehended in June of this year (2016) and was the prime suspect in the unlawful photography case that unfolded at Kohl's on Old Fort Parkway and a Memorial Boulevard Publix store, both in Murfreesboro. The suspect was charged with "Unlawful Photography" and "Observation Without Consent" after he allegedly took photographs up the skirt of at least one customer in one of the stores.

In 2015, McCord was indicted after being accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year old girl. The incident was said to have occurred when the child was at his home spending the night with McCord and his wife Virginia. McCord allegedly touched the child in the genital area as she slept, but she woke up as it was happening and called her grandfather to pick her up.

McCord was originally placed on the Tennessee Sex Offender registry in 2002 for a Sexual Battery conviction.

Again, McCord was sentenced to spend the next 7 years of his life in prison this past Friday in a Rutherford County Circuit Courtroom.
