Christopher Brewer of Smyrna made quite a name for himself during his short life. The 24-year old passed away last week, but was remembered Monday for his fight.
He died Tuesday in Pittsburgh after dealing with an infection. Brewer was born with the genetic disorder called Hirschsprung's disease, which prevents sufferers from absorbing nutrients from food.
Brewer received several organ transplants over the years. Over the years, the community has come together to help the family and he was in the news on and off most of his life. He spent the last year in hospitals.
Friends and family say he fought a good fight. Christopher Brewer is survived by his parents, Chris and Brande Patch Brewer along with a brother, Jonathan Brewer.
Funeral services, which were handled by Woodfin Chapel Smyrna, were held Monday.
