Representative Dawn White (R-Murfreesboro) has been elected by her colleagues to serve as Caucus Secretary for the Tennessee House Republican Caucus. The House Republican Caucus, comprised of seventy-three of the ninety-nine members of the Tennessee House of Representatives, voted earlier today to fill their leadership positions for the 109th General Assembly, which will convene in January.

"I am honored to serve the House Republican Caucus in this role and humbled by the trust my fellow members have placed in me," said White. "I look forward to working with each of them and the other members of our leadership team over the next two years as we continue moving our state forward."

"I want to congratulate Representative White on becoming the House Republican Caucus Secretary. That her colleagues entrusted to her a leadership position speaks volumes of her character," said Speaker Beth Harwell. "I look forward to working with Rep. White on the important issues facing our state."

"This is a perfect role for Representative White and I know she will do a fantastic job," said House Republican Caucus Chairman Glen Casada. "Rep. White's work ethic and legislative smarts make her a key asset within our Caucus. I am excited to work closely with her in the coming months."

Rep. White, a small business owner and former teacher, was re-elected to a second term in the General Assembly in November. She lives in Murfreesboro and represents District 37 in Rutherford County, which includes portions of Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Vergne, Walter Hill and Leanna.
