A public hearing will be held later this week with the state Department of Environment and Conservation and concerned residents near the Allied Waste Middle Point Landfill. The company is seeking to renew their operations permit for the landfill on East Jefferson Pike in Walter Hill. The public hearing is a chance for residents to air out their concerns. It will be held this Thursday night at 6 at Walter Hill Elementary School.
