Retire your torn or weathered American Flag at the Healing Field

When an American flag becomes worn, faded, torn or soiled, it should be retired and replaced with a new flag.

Mike Benzy with Boy Scout Troop 538 told WGNS that they will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony at the Healing Field event outside of First United Methodist Church on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro. Anyone who would like to retire a flag of their own is welcome to observe the ceremony, then retire their own flag afterwards. Or, if you have a flag to retire and do not wish to participate, the Scouts will gladly retire the flag for you.
