R'ford Co. Schools ask for Public Input on Hiring New Schools Director

James Evans with Rutherford County Schools told WGNS that the school board is in need of input from the community in regards to the soon to be open Director of Schools position. As reported in previous newscast, current schools director Harry Gill, Jr. is stepping down from the position at the end of this school year.

The upcoming meeting is open to all parents and will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Rutherford County Schools Central Office.

The Board of Education has asked the Tennessee School Boards Association to assist with the Director of Schools selection process. The Tennessee School Board Association submitted the lowest bid to help with the search for a new director. The association offered their services for a price tag of $5,000 to $8,500. Three professional human resource agencies also submitted bids to help with the search. Those three agencies submitted bids between $25,000 and $30,000.
