Riverdale Girls, Oakland Boys Win "Battle of Boro," plus all Saturday Scores

The Riverdale girls have not lost to Oakland since the second meeting of three meetings in 2005. That streak continues, despite a hard fought game. The Lady Warriors held on to defeat the Lady Patriots 60-54. Riverdale hit eight free throws in a row to secure the win after seeing their 11 point half time lead dwindle to two by the final stanza. Shelbie Davenport led Riverdale with 27 points. Alexia Middleton followed with 13. Oakland was led by Emily Eubank's 17. Kiara Howse had 14 and Shelby Gibson 13. Riverdale improves to 16-4, 6-1 in the district. Oakland suffers their third loss of the year, falling to 17-3. They're 4-2 in the district.

GIRLS PODCAST

The Oakland boys built a 21-7 first quarter lead and held off Riverdale to win on the road 61-56. By half time, the Warriors cut the lead to eight, winning the second quarter by a 14-to-8 margin. The Patriots shot 52-percent from the field for the game, but 21-of-25 kept the Warriors close. Oakland's Kyle Oliver led his team with 23 points followed by Ricky Dunnaway's 17. Psalms Duff had 19 for Riverdale. Stephen Wilson and Jalen Campbell both chipped in 10. Riverdale, in the loss, drops to 12-9 overall, 1-5 in district play. Oakland improves to 11-9, 3-3 in district play.
