The next head coach of the Riverdale Lady Warrior basketball team will be Randy Coffman. He's leaving his position as the head coach of the Dyersburg Lady Trojans. The 48-year old tells a Dyersburg newspaper announcing to his team he was leaving was one of the hardest things he's ever had to do. But he made the decision because of the opportunity it presented.

Coffman's teams have made three trips to the state tournament, including a runner up finish in 2005. He's been the head coach at Dyersburg for the last 17-years and amassed a 357-159 record. Coffman is married with two children.

He'll replace Wendi Scott, who was the head coach for a matter of days. She stepped down after finding out she was pregnant. She was selected by Principal Tom Nolan to replace Cory Barrett, who resigned after being suspended for a year. You'll recall that was in the aftermath of the 7AAA consolation game which saw both Riverdale and Smyrna trying to throw the game.
