Robbery Reported at the Sleep Inn of Murfreesboro

A robbery was reported on Monday at a motel off of Old Fort Parkway.

According to a clerk at the Sleep Inn on Chaffin Place, he witnessed a man run through the lobby yelling for him to call the police. Seconds later, the clerk witnessed a second man dressed in black come through the lobby chasing the first subject who was later deemed to be the victim.

Police located the 55 year old victim who said he was in the parking lot of a different motel counting his money. He said that he was approached by a man wearing all black clothing who actually chased him through the motel lobby of Sleep Inn and to his motel room. Once at the room he closed and locked the door. He then told the subject outside his door that he was calling 9-1-1.

Police arrived and took over the investigation.

The victim, who is visiting Murfreesboro from Detroit, was able to hold onto his cash, but no suspect has been apprehended at this time.
