The planned Rockvale High School has a mascot and colors. And it will be familiar to long time residents.

The Rutherford County School Board unanimously approved the school's nickname as "Rockets," the same used by the old K-12 school. The Rockvale colors will also be MTSU blue and white.

The school, which will open in 2020, was named after the old "Rockvale Community Consolidated School, which first opened in 1927. Construction bids are expected to the Rutherford County Board of Education by the end of the month.
