(MURFREESBORO) - An 18-year old Rockvale man is in jail on various drug related charges, but it's what he allegedly did while being booked into the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office that makes this an interesting story. Jesse Lawler was arrested at an apartment pool on West Thompson Lane after Murfreesboro Police responded to possible illegal drugs Sunday afternoon. Lawler gave officers consent to search his vehicle where they allegedly found marijuana, digital scales with residue and liquor. While the teen was at the S-O to be booked, Officer Slater reports Lawler attempted to hide a small bag of marijuana under the desk, which was captured on video. Lawler, who was jailed on $5,250 bond, will also face a charge of introducing a contraband into a penal institution. He'll answer to charges in General Sessions Court August 12th.
