RTS 2013 Winner: Mitchell-Neilson's Principal Robin Newell

Another chapter in Read To Succeed's "Celebrity Bee" is history with Mitchell-Neilson Schools Principal Robin Newell emerging the victor. Minh-Triet Tucker, who served in Reagan's White House, was a very close runner up.

This year's venue was at World Outreach Church, which enabled the event to almost triple in size. The supporters sat at tables around the stage and enjoyed a sample of the soon to open Peter D's Restaurant. That family eatery is under construction on the Medical Center Parkway, next to the Avenue of Murfreesboro.

Diane Mackey was the Big Bee, also known as primary judge. She has much experience with spelling bees at the local school system and has shared her experience in this position for many years. Former winning speller and local minister Vincent Windrow along with attorney Jason King assisted in the judging. WGNS' Bart Walker was the pronouncer.
