Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Confirms Promotion of Barbara Wolke

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce has promoted Barbara Wolke to vice president of the Convention & Visitors Bureau. She has been serving in an interim capacity since November.

As vice president, Wolke is responsible for developing and executing marketing, sales and product development plans and programs to ensure profit, growth and expansion of Rutherford County’s tourism industry.

“I am excited about the future of the CVB under Barbara’s leadership,” said Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce President Paul Latture. “We were fortunate to have someone already within our ranks who has a strong work ethic, passion for our community and nearly 30 years of sales and hospitality experience.”

Wolke is a native of Middle Tennessee and a 32-year resident of Rutherford County. In November of 2003, Barbara joined the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau as director of group sales. She previously served as director of sales for the Holiday Inn of Murfreesboro and sales manager for the Holiday Inn located in Brentwood. Prior to that, she had positions in real estate, public relations and catering sales.

A graduate of the Dale Carnegie Training Course, Wolke has earned industry designations as Certified Hospitality Sales Professional from the Educational Institute with the American Hotel & Motel Association, Travel Marketing Professional from the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College and Certified Tennessee Tourism Professional from the Tennessee Tourism Roundtable.

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, which includes the Convention & Visitors Bureau, Destination Rutherford, Economic Development, Workforce Development and the Business Education Partnership, seeks to promote economic development and a quality of life to benefit all residents of Rutherford County.
