A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Shelbyville that happened in August of 2013. James Wesley Radar of Rutherford County was arrested this week on charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man on a Harley Davidson stopped at a red light on Elm Street in Shelbyville at the intersection of Lane Parkway-Colorado Boulevard. When the light turned green, witnesses say a dark-colored SUV struck the motorcyclist and ran him over.

The motorcyclist, 41-year-old David Brown, was killed in the crash. Shelbyville police say the driver of the SUV continued northbound on Old Nashville Dirt Road before speeding away and out of sight. A witness followed the SUV until speeds got dangerous and gave police a partial license plate number.

In September, police found the SUV abandoned in a cul-de-sac off Southridge Boulevard and Player Drive in Murfreesboro. The driver was no where to be found.
