The Rutherford County Adult Detention Center is trying new things to reduce the number of inmates who return to the jail after being released. Lt. Chris Deal who is a member of the detention facility staff told WGNS the Sheriff’s Department is now working with the Tennessee Technology Center…

The goal is to help inmates learn a trade so they can work on being gainfully employed when released. As Lt. Deal stated, there are currently 7 inmates participating in the program.
