As previously reported, Murfreesboro will soon have two more Walmart stores. This time, two Neighborhood Markets.

The grand opening for one of the two new neighborhood markets will be held on Wednesday (1/27/16) in Murfreesboro at 1153 Fortress Boulevard. The first ribbon cutting will be at 7 AM. The second grand opening for the other store at 2478 New Salem Highway will be held on Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM, just 30-minutes after the first store opens.

The two new Neighborhood Markets make for a total of six Walmart stores in Murfreesboro alone. When you include Smyrna and LaVergne, the total number of Walmarts comes in at seven throughout Rutherford County.

Each neighborhood market is 41,000 square feet in size. The Walmart Super Stores are a little over 200-thousand square feet in size.

At the end of this month (January), 154 Walmart stores across the United States will close their doors for good. In Tennessee, a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Nashville will close along with four smaller Walmart Express stores in Middle Tennessee.
