"Rutherford's Got Talent"...HUGE Success!

MTSU's renovated Tucker Theatre had a strong turnout for the 4th Annual Rutherford's Got Talent, a fundraiser by county employees to benefiting United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

Event Chair Carolyn Holt, who is in the county mayor's office, received a dozen roses as a thank you for coordinate the show in the past. The audience learned that Carolyn planned to retire next month, however there were strong rumors that she was being courted for a return appearance to chair next year's show as well.

Winners

Junior Category

First place went to Kylie Skaggs (above left), an 11 year old singer from Rockvale Middle School. Second in the Junior Category was Kelsey Keith (above right photo), who played guitar and sang.

Adult Category

The Candle Lights (see photo below), an adult acapella group, who have been singing together for more than three decades took first place for adults.

Singer Emily Rogers (below left photo) took the second place for adults. Our National Anthem was sung by Rutherford County Administrator of Elections Nicole Lester (below right).
