Sen. Tracy's Mother, Betty Jean, Passes Away

The mother of State Senator Jim Tracy, Betty Jean Smith Tracy, passed away. She died Monday in Shelbyville. She was a retired school teacher from Hardin and Madison Counties. Mrs. Tracy is also survived by her husband of 62-years, James. Funeral services will be at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Shelbyville Thursday.

Mrs. Betty Jean Smith Tracy 84 of Shelbyville died Monday, February 9th. She was former resident of Jackson, Tennessee; retired school teacher for Hardin County and Madison County; a member of the Retired Tennessee Teachers Association and the NEA Association and a member of Southside Church of Christ.
She was the daughter of the late Dolan and Thelma Harber Smith. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James E. Tracy; sons, Jim (Trena) Tracy, Steven E. Tracy all of Shelbyville; sister, Lois Jane Smith of Alamo; three Grandchildren, Chad Tracy of Murfreesboro, Craig Tracy of Shelbyville and Connor Tracy of Columbia. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 12th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Shelbyville Ed Boggess and Jeff Smith officiating.Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Graveside Services will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson, Tennessee.
