Serious Injury Accident in Christiana on Rucker Road Leads to DUI #2 Charge Saturday Night

There was a serious auto accident on Saturday night in Rutherford County. The wreck occurred on a 90-degree curve along Rucker Road near the Shelbyville Highway. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that one driver was charged with his second DUI after the collision. A resident who lives in a home near the wreck told us, “Two cars collided nearly head on at the curve, one of the two hit a tree.”

The THP report shows that Brian Andrew Morris was driving a Dodge Charger when he crossed the yellow line at the curve on Rucker Road and struck a small Kia SUV being driven by Robert Wayne Cannon. 40-Year old Cannon and his passenger, 34-year old Lisa D. Hensley were both wearing their seatbelts when they were reportedly struck by the Charger. Cannon was not seriously injured, but Hensley was badly hurt in the crash and had to be transported to St. Thomas Rutherford. Her condition has not been released.

The driver of the Charger who is from Pelham, Tennessee was not wearing a seat belt and was transported by ambulance to the local hospital. Upon his release from St. Thomas, the 29-year old was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and later released Sunday morning after being charged with his second DUI, reckless driving and failure to wear his seatbelt.
