Severe thunderstorms are possible in Rutherford County and across Middle Tennessee Sunday. The National Weather Service says as a strong cold front moves toward the mid-state, it will create an elevated risk of severe thunderstorms through the late afternoon and early evening Sunday. The storms will be capable of producing damaging straight-line winds, hail, heavy rain and even isolated tornadoes.
