Despite battling back, down 2-nothing on the road at Soddy Daisy, Oakland softball drops a heart breaker to end their season in the sectional championship game 5-to-4. The Lady Pats battled back to tie the game in the sixth inning and scored two more in the top of the seventh to take a 2-run lead. But Soddy Daisy tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, sending the game to extra innings. It was a squeeze play that scored the game winning run for the Lady Trojans in the bottom of the ninth. The Lady Patriots end their year at 40-and-16, the best year since 2002 for Oakland.
