Sheriffs Office Making Improvements

Sheriff Robert Arnold was on the WGNS Action Line (1-18-2012) where he announced major improvements at the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office. One was a total new communications center. In fact, the sheriff indicated installation of new equipment started Tuesday (1-17-2012) . . .

He said the old two-way radio had many "dead spots" where communication with deputies was very spotty. Not only did that make it dangerous for the officer, but it created problems in quickly getting vital information out during emergency situations. 

Adult Detention Center's Kitchen 

The other project deals with getting the new kitchen up and operating at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. Sheriff Arnold said . . .

For several months, meals for inmates have been prepared at the County Workhouse. Sheriff Arnold says that when you consider that's about two and a half miles away, and almost 800 meals are prepare three-time daily--it becomes a major expense.
